Job Description:
The Creative Learning Manager is responsible for the strategic development of the Creative Learning team and skills development pathways. The job requires a dynamic, creative individual with an enthusiastic and proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Courses and Professional Development
- Oversee the training programme delivery providing academic and organisational leadership, quality and assessment standards.
- Ensure a strong and consistent support to the participants' experience and that quality and assessment standards are maintained, realising the creative and educational aspirations including the JVIntensive, JV2: Professional Development Diploma and the wider educational offer.
- Oversee the smooth running and delivery of the audition process and work with the Artistic Director and Programme Leader(s) on participant selection.
- Oversee the recruitment, offers and administration of training participants, working closely with the Finance Officer on Programme Fees and Payment Schedules.
- Work with the Learning & Participation Coordinator & Training Programme Leaders, to oversee all assessment and feedback for participants and develop resources and learning materials for programme content, including the engagement and liaison with Guest Choreographers and Guest Tutors.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, enhancement and relevance of the existing Training Programmes and work with the Artistic and Executive Directors on the development of future programmes and initiatives both in the UK and Internationally ensuring the integrity to the artistic work remains and any new initiative brings value to us.
- Work with the relevant staff to book, promote and ensure the smooth running of the JV2 tours and work with venues and stakeholders to maximise engagement and audience development opportunities.
- Manage scheduling of activities and space to include the engagement of collaborators, designers and technicians, such as Costume Designers and Lightning Designers.
- Work with the Communications Department to promote the training programmes
- Work with the Artistic Director to contribute to talent development programmes including but not exclusive to: Training; Mentoring; Professional Development; Creative and Career Development Support and Choreographic Commissions.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Training Programme alumni relations and initiatives. Community & Partnerships
- Lead on and develop a strategic plan for Creative Learning projects in consultation with other staff as appropriate and with consideration of skills and employment pathways.
- Work with the Communities & Partnerships Officer to manage, develop and administrate the Youth Dance Company: JVyoU, including performance opportunities and special events.
- In collaboration with the Communities & Partnerships Officer, develop a range of partnerships including schools, educational institutions, universities, arts organisations, local authorities and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the development & distribution of Learning Resources to support the Artistic and Touring work including workshop programmes and digital offers.
- Work with relevant staff, venues and stakeholders to maximise education engagement and audience development opportunities including events that support the artistic work including workshops and Q&A’s
- Proactively encourage engagement and participation of those currently underrepresented in the sector and/or facing barriers to participation.
- Represent the Jasmin Vardimon Company in networks, sector related meetings and at events helping to raise the profile of the work regionally, nationally and internationally. Management and Administration
- Work with the Executive Director on annual budgets and provide regular updates on income and expenditure
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, identify and apply for funding that supports Creative Learning activity.
- Oversee the collation of quantitative and qualitative data based on project delivery and participants, reporting to funding bodies and partners. Contribute to Arts Council England’s Activity Plan and Investment Principles templates.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and all other relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Recruit, contract and line manage staff as appropriate. Ensure staff appraisals and informal reviews take place regularly and training opportunities are identified and offered.
- Manage the liaison with and contracting of education deliverers and ensure they are suitably informed and trained and continue to uphold the standards of artistic and educational excellence offered by Jasmin Vardimon Company.
- Contribute to a strong positive and open working environment and cultural ethos which supports best practice and communication.
